Happy, Blessed, and Thankful

Once a year, this significant day of my life comes and I can’t help but remember the “good, old days” of high school where we used to sing this song as we celebrate our birthdays together: “Today is your birthday, a very special day. You must be happy more than yesterday. Forget all your sorrows, it’s time to rejoice. Today is your birthday, a very special day.”

Yes, today is my birthday and it’s indeed a very special day!

God has given me another year in my life and right now, I am happy, blessed, and thankful.

I am happy today. Yes, I am! I may not have everything I want but I have everything I need. Deep within, my heart is immensely happy.

"Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is the Lord." -Psalm 144:15, KJV.

I am blessed because I have a family whose love, companionship, and care I always treasure and adore. I am still blessed because I have relatives and friends, near and far, whose support and encouragements have helped me greatly.

"Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God." -Matthew 5:8, KJV.

Finally, I am exceedingly thankful to God for the gift of life, for His providence, and for His unfathomable love for me. I thank Him for His goodness and faithfulness to me through the years.

"Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift." -2 Corinthians 9:15, KJV.

Throughout the course of my life, I have found out that He never fails.

"Praise the Lord! He is good. God’s love never fails." -Psalm 136:1, CEV.

And day-by-day, as I continue to live my life, this precious promise from God is always foremost in my mind, and may this promise will inspire you too!

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." -Jeremiah 29:11, NIV.

Have you celebrated your birthday this year? If yes, how’s the experience? If no, what are you looking forward to on your birthday? Feel free to share your thoughts by leaving a comment below. Thanks!
