Travel Photo: A Memorial for the Veterans

Today, I will be featuring a photograph I took while exploring a new city in Leyte.

Where in world is this?

This is the Veterans' Memorial Park in Baybay City, Leyte. A landmark monument located in the central district of the city near the baywalk. The cityhood of Baybay became controversial when the Supreme Court of the Philippines declared that its cityhood, along with 15 other cities, was unconstitutional. Finally, Baybay became a city once again on February 15, 2011.

The marker on the monument reads,

"The primary duty of a citizen is defense of his country."
