My 10 Adrenaline-Pumping Adventures of 2012

Seeking adventures is always running in my veins. I love the thrill and the excitement that comes along with it, and 2012 was no exception. 2012 was full of travel and ministry at home and abroad. Furthermore, it was also packed with unforgettable, adrenaline-pumping adventures-- really not for the fainthearted!

Here are my top 10 adventures of 2012:

1. Swimming with the whalesharks in Oslob, Cebu
I had a great experience swimming with the whalesharks in Oslob, Cebu. But sadly, I am not recommending this activity anymore because of the many concerns about environmental and wildlife matters. My call now is to save and protect these "gentle giants."

2. Climbing Osmeña Peak
It is always a sweet feeling to stand on top of Cebu!

3. Snorkeling in Boljoon, Cebu
Snorkeling in Arbor Marine Sanctuary in Boljoon, Cebu was priceless. Clean seas, rich marine life, and friendly locals make Boljoon a great place to explore.

4. Boating in Barili, Cebu
The birthday trip with Laagan na Cebuana led us to Sayaw Beach and Rock Formations in Barili, Cebu.

5. Boating in Lake Kasudsuran, Leyte
With my local outdoor group, TAMAK, we explored one of Ormoc's three majestic lakes-- Lake Kasudsuran. Boating in the lake is free!

6. Crossing Visayas to Mindanao by Pumpboat
Can you believe it? Yes! From Limasawa Island, we crossed the seas going to Panaon Island then to Surigao City literally by pumpboat for 2 straight hours. A once-in-a-lifetime and a scary experience indeed!

7. Coral Planting in Southern Leyte
I consider this as one of the most fulfilling adventures this year. I was able to volunteer in the Coral Reef Restoration Project in Padre Burgos, Southern Leyte initiated by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST). I felt I was a marine biologist for 3 days. :P

8. Flying Above the Clouds for the First Time
Because first times are sweet, I fell in love with flying!

9. First Extreme Rides
Boomerang, Vortex, The Giant Drop-- these were the gut-wrenching and heart-stopping rides I bravely tried in Siam Park City in Bangkok, Thailand. These rides are really not for the fainthearted!

10. Whitewater Rafting and Elephant Ride in Chiang Mai, Thailand
My most amazing adventure happened in Amazing Thailand! One day filled with adventures and nature tripping in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

    1. Hello Jade! Yes, I have tried it and it was a little bit scary at the start. It was a 2-hour trip, one way, from Limasawa Island to Surigao City.
