We explored Boljoon after our swimming with the whaleshark and visit to Tumalog Falls in Oslob, Cebu. This trip was still a part of our 2-day Cebu South Adventures with my friend, Roy.
We rode an ordinary Ceres bus from Oslob to Boljoon for PhP 24.
We had our lunch at a small "carenderia" in Boljoon for PhP 74.
We then walked towards the central part of the town where the municipal hall, sports complex, and other government offices stand.
We passed by a statue of Jose Rizal, flanked by the waving Philippine flags.
Then, we were enamored by the beautiful and picturesque sea-side plaza, named Plaza Bermejo.
Then, there was this diving board (not the springboard though in the Olympics), where little children liked to play. (We had our regrets because we did not try to dive here. Maybe next time.)
We toured inside the Boljoon Parish Museum. It was my first time to see a museum of archaeological findings.
I was impressed by these words inside the museum.
It reads: "Ang Boljoon sa Karaang Panahon: Mga Nakubkuban Kabilin sa Atong Mga Kaliwat".
In English, "Boljoon in Ancient Times: Excavated Remains from Our Ancestors".
Inside, we saw the remains like spears, necklaces, gold earrings, blue wares, porcelain jarlets, books of records, and more.
It was so amazing to see those archaeological remains!
We then tried to follow Boljoon's Heritage Walk, but we did not have the luxury of time. So, I said, "We'll do it next time".
So, we waited for the bus going to Dalaguete, Cebu.
