How to Get to Ormoc City, Leyte?

(This post is based on the pamphlet given by the personnel at the Ormoc City Tourism Office. I am posting this as a Travel Tip to all backpackers, tourists, and travel enthusiasts.)

Ormoc City is the entry point of Leyte island.
 
Welcome to the "Beauty by the Bay."

There are 8 flights daily via Manila-Cebu route, 4 flights daily via Manila-Tacloban route.

The city is also accessible by boat from Cebu, 2 ½ hours on fast crafts and 5 hours on conventional boats.

By land, big buses ply direct from Manila to Ormoc (approximately 29 hours travel time). Ormoc is 2 hours away from Tacloban City on vehicles-for-hire and 3 hours by bus. Buses also ply Ormoc to Davao route with approximately 25 hours travel time.

Motorcab or tricycle is the primary mode of transportation within the city proper and urban barangays 24 hours daily. PUJs ply from the city center to the rural barangays of the city on scheduled time. Small buses ply from the city to the neighboring municipalities daily. Rent-a-car service is available at the terminal area, or from tour operators and at hotels.

    1. Thanks for dropping by, Joland! I don't really know the exact amount, but I guess the fare from Manila to Ormoc ranges from P1,000-1,500.
