One of the best perks as a member of the Earth Society of Mountain View College is that you get to climb one of the highest mountains in the Philippines, Mt. Dulang-Dulang. I have climbed Mt. Dulang-Dulang once on October 2006.
Mt. Dulang-Dulang is the 2nd highest mountain in the Philippines, next only to Mt. Apo in Davao. Mt. Dulang-Dulang is part (and the highest) of the Mt. Kitanglad Range Natural Park located at the heart of Bukidnon, Philippines. It is one of the greatest mountains that I have ever climbed!
Mt. Dulang-Dulang is a protected area, so you have to get permission from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Protected Area Management Board (DENR-PAMB) at Malaybalay City, Bukidnon and the local tribal chieftain for your climb. Mt. Dulang-Dulang offers a very wonderful climb. There is an area in which the Earth Society named, “The Fairy Land”. It is an area in the middle of the mountain in which you can only see the color green from the ground up to the trees and its leaves. You will experience walking on a carpet of moss. You will see mosses growing and surrounding the trunks of the trees. You will mostly see mosses in that area!
At the peak, you will get to see the view of Mt. Kitanglad. You will be in the midst of a thousand bonsais growing at the mountain top.
All adventurers really need to climb this mountain!
